Profiteering should become our national sport. Everyone is out to get you and your wallet. I just carry a tub of Vaseline whenever I go to the shops, it’s a lot less uncomfortable.

Jokes aside, this is ridiculous. I would never buy a PS3 based on the price of the games, PC game prices are bad enough but PS3 takes the cake. Someone is making huge profits off these games and I just wish they would tighten down on these greedy sob’s.

Have you tried contacting SARS HO to have the package released?

Its not mine I merely reporting what happened to others. What Sars told some of the people is they have send their products to SAFACT. Yeah that's right they have send totally legal products to the piracy police police. I won't be supporting SK in any form from now on.

I sent this on to IOL Tech. Maybe some smart journalist can make something of it.

I've ordered Killzone 2 from shopto.net a week ago! They better not keep my copy!

How do I know when my game has arrived in SA?

AND F#CK YOU STER KINEKOR!

In SK deffence - they recently drastically reduceed the prices on a lot of games. If anyone remembers the recent sales on Kalahari and Take2 , those were all SK games.

Still doesnt make what they doing right.

In SK's defence:
1.) They are the corporation responsible for "rating" games... remember the GTA 3 debacle? SK has the responsibility of making sure movies and games rated PG or M are in fact what they say and not R or X. We have VERY STRICT laws dealing with X rated material ONLY to be sold at sex shops (which just means they're an easy target)... remember there was a situation a few years back where a video rental chain was busted renting out XXX movies... they got their a$$es handed to them!
2.) I'm not sure... but they might be under some sort of warranty agreement with the game companies. I can think of no other reason why we only get a handful of game manufacturers sending their titles to SA. We only see a fraction of the PC game releases on our shelves here.

If its not something to do with the either of these two arguments... and SK just wants ALL GAMES to go through them to maintain their margins...
Well then, you have my support in boycotting their cinemas. Once there is a clear picture of what is going on, I'll mobilise whatever resources i can to add signatures to a petition or to boycott their facilities.

I think a nationwide boycott will be easy to facilitate since EVERYONE loves to b1tch about the price of movie tickets.
I can get someone from 702 on this right away if need be.

I waited for almost 2 months. Finally had to declare my Gears Of War 2 missing and have them send me a second copy. This is probably what happened to me as well :-( Now I wonder if I will ever see the second copy.

Last year I shipped something from the US. I waited for 3 months. Contacted the company in the US and they found out that our customs needed more paperwork. I waited another month and when I finally got the product, got another letter in the post stating that customs are holding my package until I submit the missing documents – how pathetic is that.

That's the good thing about most of the UK/US retailers who ship internationally many of them will resend or reimburse you if your shipment gets lost in the post.

For now that is. Eventually they will catch on like other companies did and refuse to deal with people from SA.
