Apple CEO Steve Jobs is going on the offensive against Adobe's Flash technology. He says it's too buggy, battery-draining and PC-oriented to work on the iPhone and iPad.

Apple are a bunch of idiots. They don't want to allow Flash because it will allow developers to create decent looking applications that don't have to go through their bull**** review process. Developers wanting to create these types of apps will need to use HTML5 instead.

besides most apps available already look better than flash apps by miles and run efficiently, not possible with flash.

HTML5 will eat Flash's lunch - one day...
and, yes, Apple's developer T&C's are outrageously draconian - talk about control freaks! as of a couple of weeks ago, you may no longer publish Apple apps that were translated from another programming language into Objective-C ! (this of course to thwart a flood of Flash games run through the new conversion tools that translate Flash Actionscript into Objective C ...)

Flash for Mac really sucks

Flash for Mac really sucks it brings the machine down to it's knees Adobe need to catch a wake and keep up with the times flash was designed for PC's those two go hand to hand full of bugs and HTML5 is taking over slowly slowly and Adobe is feeling the pressure.

Read my post before making assumptions. Let me spell it out: Apple doesn't allow Flash apps, so developers who don't want to create apps in C and go through the whole draconian review process only have HTML5 as an alternative development option. What part of that makes you think I prefer Flash over HTML?

Care to post a link or two? Test have proven neither run "better" than the other: Flash can make use of hardware acceleration while HTML5 can't, while HTML5 has some benefits too (can't remember it all, posted it a few days/weeks ago).

Works fine (mostly) on my mac too.
But if safari or firefox crash 99% of the time I find its flash related.

Nope, I run 32 bit. I just clicked "install plugin" with chrome, and it works 100`s.

Good for Steve Jobs. Flash was great back in the day but now it needs to die. My netbook runs everything fine but as soon as everything slows way down and the processor spikes I know it is flash. Drives me mad. At least with HTML 5 you have a change that all the browsers will support it without having to download a plugin etc. And don't even talk to me about all the security bugs in Flash...
