If the people were dumb enough to allow workers into their yard in the first place, to dig up their driveway and plant poles, then they deserve to have them there.

Telkom should try to be accomodating. R6000 per pole is just insane and they bloody well know it. This is what you get when the service provider is a gov supported monopoly!

The interesting thing is that the rotten behavior is so prolific in Telkom because of its sick and twisted organizational structure and corporate culture. This R6000 per pole claim did not come from the higher Telkom management. It is from some lacky lower down that is also experiencing a serious bout of BRAIN ROT by working for that EVIL AND TWISTED company.

How the hell can you be so unkind!!??!!

There is something seriously twisted going on inside Telkom. This can make for a good varsity case study...

I've got what amounts to a cylinder about 3/4m high with a diameter of about 15cm - any idea what it is? Its full of wires. Telkom is forever wanting to access it but they get put off when my wife tells them she cant control the dogs.

Bundle connector. Nothing interesting, just a place where they can attatch lines or swap them around or whatever where a large cable joins from a PCP to some lines down the other end etc.

I had a small one coming out of my wall in the house where I was staying previously. If you really want to make waves, tap some lines ;)

Bwana,

...if you know what you're doing, (and I'm sure Kei could assist), you should be able to find another line running ADSL, tap into it and get rid of your monthly rental. Chances are that the two accounts on the same line will not even be noticed by the line owner... highly illegal tho':D

My luck I'd probably end up tapping into my own line :)

seems like you need to have an accident while pruning the roses with a chain saw ...

otherwise attach a large metal spike to the top and wait for lightning.
