the problem is that the inflation is coming from abroad, South African monetary policy is relatively conservative

in the US the inflation rate is probably closer to 16% than 8%, so their interest rates have to rise to closer to 20% for anything to happen there

and if nothing happens there, inflation will creep to other economies such as ours

well that was exciting, we saw the central banks in clear attack mode this week, as stocks rose and yields dropped

except for one person in this thread, nobody is going out and searching to purchase bonds, and I doubt the general public has enough capital to purchase a sufficient amount of bonds for the yield to drop as it did this week
