What happens when those commodity stocks go up?

well gold and silver stocks are not in major indexes

and oil companies are not big in the markets anymore, mostly tech stocks

try again

this is DOW30, show me the oil companies thats going to carry this index when oil goes up

So oil up because of economic demand but the Dow will fall because of that same economic demand ok,
I see what your up to now - the gold bug story of gold to the moon & market crashes, i'm sure the fed is just going to stand by & watch that happen

thats your own strawman, I did not point to economic activity as a reason for my choices

and I haven't always been long gold and short markets, I was long markets for a very long time in years gone by

and what can the FED do, keep rates at zero or increase them, those are the only two options

keep trying

Is not a strawman its a conflicting view, you got 2 trades fighting one another.
Anyway your game plan best of luck with it

its a strawman in that I did not mention economic activity as a reason for my positions that I hold, that is the reason you gave, but not my reason

also can you please show me the oil companies that are going to result in the indexes going up, maybe I can learn something from you...

I didn't ask about correlation, another strawman

I asked you what oil stocks are going to keep the index up when it falls and the oil price rises- this is a scenario you painted, not me.

A very silly question perhaps. I have been watching some of the names mentioned here, RMH, PPC and so on.

Looking at the volumes traded, is it fair to say that certain people here who have pots of money (and risk appetite) and can easily put 100K (or a million - I have no idea if anyone has this much on mybb) on a single share and make profit/loss accordingly. What I mean is that is the volume indicative of short term sell/buy strategy or is it that companies keep on putting more shares in the market as part of expansion etc ?

e.g. if someone bought RMH worth 100K shares on 17 March and they sold all yesterday, they would have made a cool 45K gain, before taxes. Granted they could have lost if trajectory was not like this. I suppose they would rather hold shares in negative scenario or sell it if it means getting rid of it before it dives further.

p.s. Now that I types this, I think it sounds much sillier than I thought but I will leave it out there.

Bought some LBH. It is almost near to all time low so hopefully go up. Also, they didn't declare dividend last 2 times so some possibility this year as they have been consistent till Covid hit.
