Anyone going in for gold? Feel it's the only thing that's investable today...

Thing with gold is you need to own it before this happens. It opens high and then you missed the gold boat.

Sure, I was a bit vague in my previous post, i'm speaking about shares in gold companies ie. Harmony, Sibanye etc.
Put an instruction to buy as market opens. Gold price in R terms increased a lot over the past hours and an increase in $ terms, maybe quick buck on the cards. Speaking solely short term.

Definitely, too risky for me personally, but you can certainly do that I'm sure you'll be able to bag double digits in a very short period ie days.

Oh that is neat, I will need to do some more digging first will report back, as for the minimum, EE has you covered there with fractional shares.

Yeah that helps not having to invest 60K and 20K increments.

From what I can tell, your capital is protected for up to a 30% loss, and you are guaranteed 30% interest on payout if the fund is up since inception. There is also no upper cap so if it grows with 200% thats what you get.

You only go for gold when there is a major international event that would cause investors to flee high risk markets (shares) and head for gold. This is the only time when gold will start climbing until climates change. Remember, no investor wants his or her money in Gold. They rather want to be in high risk stocks where they make huge profits. Our problems are restricted to SA. The only thing that will happen here is that investors will sell their stock here and move to stocks in other emerging markets. I highly doubt Gold will have any effect.

Yea just realized it's that product. There was a podcast on justonelap about it, I can't recall the specifics of why, but I remember my consensus was I am not buying it. Will see if I can go find the podcast.

Ahh sweet, thanks you.

And EE goes down on the buzzer.

Edit: Back again, a bit annoying when you are trying to dump any banking shares asap.

My portfolio seems to be performing significantly better than I anticipated. I half expected it to have been pulled into the red when the market opens, it actually seems to be doing the opposite - Sibanye, Intu, Richmont Stenprop and Cashbuild are all up

STXIND is green which is so weird it's the one stock I thought will be killed.
