I like it, so you reckon I could pull off selling at a loss, and buying in again 24 hours later (after the markets reacted to everyone selling like crazy) and actually end up with more shares than before?

I reckon people have just given up on the whole over-reaction/buy-because-low see saw. They're all tired and don't care that APN is indirectly mass murdering people because MONEY! :p

why the reaction for Sibanye Gold Ltd good news?

They bought some US mine or something. There was an article on News24 this morning.

EDIT:
JOHANNESBURG – South African miner Sibanye Gold plans to tap shareholders for about $1 billion to partly fund a takeover of US-based Stillwater Mining Co, it said on Tuesday, a day after the deal secured a US regulatory approval.
