How did Capitec end up on -1.99%? It was over -2% on Friday's close.

Anyone here use https://www.etoro.com/ for international trading?

Okay. So, after funding my account with a few thousand Dollars and doing a number of trades on the first day, they have suspended my account on Thursday due to my Paypal account being a business account. No problem with that, as they sent me an email explaining the situation and what they need.

I tried communicating with eToro since Thursday morning, but they simply ignore all communications. I eventually requested a refund of the funds and also submitted a Paypal dispute due to the fact that they ignore all communications.

Personally I am done with them. Cannot deal with a company that does not respond to communications after 4 days. Cannot trust them with my money.

So, be warned.

Hang on to those shares. And, try to buy more every month. Curro will go from strength to strength. In January this year, the share was at R29. I am sure Curro will trade in the R120+ range by the end of next year.

quite a bold claim?

And still sticking to my guns. Curro is a great long-term investment opportunity. Probably one of the better ones on the JSE. I doubt you will find a serious investor that does not have them in their portfolio.

I have no problem with that, I'm genuinely interested in your reasons though. Specifically?

Here is my reasons why I started investing in Curro and why I think they will succeed:

1. The ANC is running our education system into the ground. Many people are moving their children to Curro for better education. There is an increasing need for private schools in this country at this point in time.
2. Yes, Curro schools are expensive, but often cheaper than other private schools. More people are able to enter their children to Curro as opposed to smaller private schools when it comes to school fees.
3. Most, if not all, high ranking ANC members have their children enrolled in Curro schools. I heard this personally from someone within government. A few months ago, when the so-called 'racism' news broke at a Curro school, you did not hear much from government about it, and this confirmed what I heard. Also, many people told me that government wants to do away with private schools. I doubt this. Show me one of these ministers who have children in these schools who are willing to to take them out and place them in public schools in classes with 40-50 children. I think the private school industry is very safe for now.
4. Curro recently announced that they will expand by opening 800 new schools across the country between 2016 and 2018.
5. Curro is constantly busy buying out smaller private schools, with the latest being Windhoek Gymnasium.
6. Curro is increasing its markethold in the private school sector.
7. Curro has the right management for growing the business.

These are just a few of my reasons why I decided to go this route and it already paid off for me.

Government won't do away with private schooling but they will change the regulations so the schooling provided can't be any better than public education. Education isn't a good long term investment. Renergen is certainly something I'm looking into. With the Eskom situation and nuclear going to be a tremendous failure for our country electricity prices can only go up by 3x over the next 5 years. Renewables are going to see a major boost.

The government will start (already has) subsidizing students from poor areas to go to meridian schools or Curros.

Yes, let's subsidise private schools, universities, the list goes on while we can't make the basic education budget work.

Okay, I managed to buy R20k into ACL this morning. Could not get the shares at R3.25, but rather at an average of R3.29. Got 6079 shares now, so, now to see what happens...

EE alocated 900 rights offer shares to my account. How does this work? Do I still have to purchase the rights offer? And at what price?

Does not sound good at all! : O

what bothered me is that their fee structure isn't fully explained( multiple levels of Fee's for deposits, trading, and withdrawls)

Hope they refunded your deposits by now?

All sorted now. They contacted me yesterday morning (so I assume no one worked from Thursday afternoon until Monday) and explained to me the regulations prohibiting them from accepting Paypal money from a business account to a private individual trading account.

They refunded me my money and it was back in Paypal late afternoon on yesterday. That was quite fast.

I opened an account again, this time around with my private Paypal account and within an hour everything was done. New trading account was set up, new Paypal payments showed instantly and my documents verified and approved.

Looks like they are very effective on Mondays.

By the way, I actually like their platform. It is an easy way for me to get my additional Paypal into something abroad. Currently I spend hundreds of dollars a month on eBay s**t. I'd much rather push these funds into shares on the NYSE and will see how they do in a years' time. Also, using another $200 to play around with commodities and forex.
