that is my thought as well.

my portfolio was majorly based on stocks that performed stable 20% plus for the last 3 years or even more. Portfolio currently up 3% in almost a year...

something really messed up in the markets. settling debt with 10%/15% interest might be a better bet i think.

Agreed, I'd be making more money by just leaving the money in the bank at the rate I'm going :D

Was down severely on some like 20% decided to sell and place the rest in money market lost 18% ytd which is massive. Hedged funds/stocks seem alot better off.

Rand has depreciated to other currencies and not only dollar and pound.

I have decided to sell everything and exit the market as soon as we have an up day like yesterday again. I am rather going to settle some small debt as the interest on my small debt is more than the profit I am making on stocks during the last 3 months.

I do not forsee stocks going up for the remainder of the year. I would probably be able to pick ups discounted stocks in the second half of 2016.
Why I'm investing in commodities as they're the only things going up at the moment and the takeover of Aquarius by Sibanye can only be adding to those two. I hope this goes on until 18 June when the ship comes in so I can go on a bigger shopping spree.

Can someone explain why there's no data from 16:50 and then at 17:00 share prices suddenly change?

Rather odd that SGL opted in buying platinum mines, guess it can be good in the long run once platinum prices go up, that's if they able to survive until then.

Mines are mines. You can pick stretches with platinum or gold deposits but you can't choose what you extract.

My portfolio is down around R8k on my capital balance. And that's real money :-( Somehow I thought it was a good idea to restart my portfolio about 3 months ago and dump a whole bunch of cash into it. Right at the end of a 6 year bull market.

Should rebound today, any suggestions for a quick 10%?

According to Google the energy sector is biggest gainer (worldwide) at the moment.

If you reckon the Rand will weaken today then something with offshore exposure might be a winner.
