Stop changing the SA Minister of Communications: Qualcomm

Until such time as there is political will to govern in accordance with the communications needs of all South African citizens, as opposed to the self enrichment of those that govern, it makes no difference how many communications ministers are handed control of Telkom shares.

Qualcomm could have landed a better punch by asking why Roy was deposed by el showerhead at a time when it seemed Roy was actually acting in the interests of all South African citizens.

+1

Roy was probably deposed 'cos he was making the other look bad - which, of course, is the truth ...

My theory has always been that he was appointed by accident: he wasn't expected to take the job seriously !

They have to bribe a new one, and new one, ?again?

Qualcomm should really stop making public comments.

Ivy's decade proves that its only good for the companies profiteering in SA.

Minister of Communication = Minister of ANC Communication. Public is not a factor.

The shell game continues...

If you keep moving the ministers around then nobody is accountable for the lack of progress since they just arrived & haven't had time to achieve anything yet. Bonus points if you move in a minister who knows nothing about the portfolio.

Strangely the car buying, hotel stays and flights on taxpayers money is exempt from the above...that seems to happen regardless of how fast they get shuffled around.

I am not so sure - the Roy move may turn out to be very good for the country, not so great for the DoC, but great for the country. What was that story about him implementing a full performance review on all government employees? Basically auditing what positions there are, the qualifications of the person in said position and then what they are being paid vs what government actually gets for this.

Then again I can see this pissing of a lot of stalwarts and him [Roy] being moved somewhere else again before he can do some real good. If that happens it would have been better to leave him at the DoC.

I would have thought the Minister of Communications should at least have a degree/diploma in engineering, and be an intelligent person.

But then I thought of your president. :(

Coherence in communications policy-making needs stability in the South African Ministry of Communications, says Qualcomm’s head of government affairs

You really expect them to understand words like coherence & stability?
