I wonder if some of you fine gentleman can help my downtrodden colleague make sense of this financial puzzle.
My colleague's father passed away recently. She is not executor but is trying to get her ducks in a row as she has been managing most of the financial matters while her father was ill.
Her father had some debt which was supposed to be cancelled off as he had a policy in place with the bank. So if anything happens to him then the policy that he paid for years will clear his credit card as he is no more around.
Now 20k came into his account from Absa. Then a transaction went off for about 3k that’s the service fees off Absa for that stop order.
Before the R20k the Credit Card account had a balance of -R2.2k, the Cheque account had a balance of close to R18k now after the R20k from Absa the Cheque account balance shows a -R22.5k.
What are we missing here?
Any insight is appreciated.
