South Africa cannot afford to close the economy in the draconian way the government has done so as part of its national lockdown measures.

The alcohol ban is a sledgehammer approach to something that needs considerably more nuanced approaches, but in broad strokes can be accepted as a good thing.

As for the smoking ban, are you suggesting that just stopping smoking the day of lockdown reduces your risk of complications and pneumonia by 14x?

Ramaphosa did the right thing in broad strokes, the twat securocrats underneath him though have gone overboard with the petty dick swinging that does nothing expect delegitimize the lockdown as a whole.
