I'll be out of action with the photos for a while.

We were the proud Xmas sponsors of a household full of electronics, cameras and jewellery to an underprivileged syndicate this weekend.

They even took my 2TB external HDD on which I religiously backed up all my photos. :crying:

That sucks!
- I can borrow him a DX body but i don't have a spare lens - anyone have a DX kit lens or something they don't use?

Hi Tun@

Thank you so much for the kind gesture. Wow, just wow!

Luckily insurance came to the party today (took them bloody long enough).

I'll be replacing my whole kit in the next few days. D3100, D7100 and a bunch of lenses. They were actually nice. My camera bag was only bought for R600 but replacing it with one worth R3000. I can also chop and change with the lenses and accessories as long as I stay within the paid out budget. Decisions, decisions. :)

Obviously Still miffed about all my memories and unique shoots - like the rodeo, Varsity Cup and Currie Cup Finals - that were lost along with my HDDs.

Sorry to hear about the loss, glad insurance is covering it. Was it under household insurance or separate?

The D7100 and 2 lenses were specified. The others were thankfully covered through household.

Why is it not symmetric

Appears that way because some the lower reflection is covered by the surface puddle(does that make sense?)
You can see what i'm saying in this one maybe better
