This one was a baby I think. Took the pic last night. I then took it outside as it was near my caps on the coat hanger. Didn't want to take any chances. I'll get a better close up if I see one again.

Okie dokie - there are four types of relatively toxic spiders that one finds around homes - these are the violin spiders, brown widows, black widows and sac spiders. This is quite definitely not one of those four types - highly unlikely it would bite or that its bite would cause any great problems.

Sort of restricted with data ATM due to being overseas and uploading off a mobile...

but this was shot at around 5AM a few days back at Mangawai Heads in New Zealand. It also made it onto the weather segment on the local news :D

Very nice dude.. Composition is a bit boring but those colours make the entire scene very serene.

What would you have done/included to improve the composition? (serious question)

Nothing much really. Maybe frame the boat more left, and give a little more head or 'sky' room, juxtaposing the solitude boat a bit more. But that's completely subjective.

It's a stunning picture none the less!!

Yeah, or something similar. Bring the horizon down - especially since there's very little content/interest in the bottom of the picture, maybe crop in to balance the boat and the bigger hill.

The reflection of the clouds on the water does make the bottom of the picture more interesting though.

It does, but you could crop it to a rule of thirds and still not delete a lot of the reflection. A lot of the bottom 20% are dark clouds that don't really catch your eye anyway. Cropping it also give the benefit of pulling your eye quicker to the boat.

Either way, still a nice pic.

Thanks everyone!

The crop was done the way it was done for 2 reasons:

1. I had a wee bit of sand and grass on the right. Cropped it out as it was distracting

2. I liked the idea of making the boat seem like it was floating on the clouds... It looked dreamy to me.

Will be up again at 5 tommorrow to try a new spot
