I take my hat off to the people who specialise in bird photography. I found it bloody difficult to keep those pesky buggers in the viewfinder and in focus.

@bwana, nice one! I know you've seen some of the recent PE "red tide" pics... try to get one from a higher vantage point (if possible).

I was going to last night but my thumb was getting tired from holding the button down for 2-4 minutes at a time :) I need to jury-rig a better trigger if I'm going to try it again tonight. Looking out the window I can already see that the red tide is even more dissipated today. :eek:

Can you talk an ignie through that stunning picture? Lightning furthest away? That sort of phosphorescent blue line is what?

The bright yellow lights towards the right are Jeffery's Bay. The blue is some sort or bioluminescent plankton/algae or something that's currently in our waters.

As we took off from PE yesterday one could see the red tide for miles.. Wish I had my camera with me.
