The ring that appears around the moon arises from light passing through six-sided ice crystals high in the atmosphere. These ice crystals refract, or bend, light in the same manner that a camera lens bends light. The ring has a diameter of 22° , and sometimes, if you are lucky, it is also possible to detect a second ring, 44° diameter. Thin high cirrus clouds lofting at 20,000 feet or more contain tiny ice crystals that originate from the freezing of super cooled water droplets. These crystals behave like jewels refracting and reflecting in different directions.

Rouxenator will love that :D

Now that I have seen that my next N-Series phone will have to come with a built in telescope for sure :p

My wife takes lots of cool pictures through a microscope (for sciencey stuff). Sometimes with her N82 but mostly with an Canon A460 because the lens is a perfect fit on the eyepiece.

Hehe, cool! I'm thinking of replacing my f/1.8 with the f/1.4. Not so much for the aperture, but I find the AF performance in bad light pretty piss poor on the f/1.8. I got much more reliable AF out of my 24-105L f/4 in much darker conditions than I can use the 50mm f/1.8 at all.

Not to take anything away from the 50mm f/1.8 - it's fantastic lens, even if it was 50% more expensive.
