Have you considered trying an HDR pano? Might not be as easy as it should be with the D40 but could be worth the effort.

Well its a nice shot all the same.I might have tried to get a little higher up on it or cropped out a bit of the foreground but thats just my personal taste.

Yeah those wheat pods did move a bit but there was still times and my camera has bracketing mode so getting 3 different exposure shots takes about 2 seconds (in JPEG mode).
