The Stormers represent South Africa's best chance of Super Rugby success in this year's tournament, according to bookmakers.

The Stormers currently find themselves in second spot in the South African Conference, some two points adrift of the Bulls after nine of the 16 scheduled pool matches.

In the Stormers' favour is the fact that they have completed their Australian tour, while the Bulls are yet to embark on theirs.

The Stormers have five of their remaining seven matches at Newlands, while the Bulls will only play host at Loftus Versfeld on two more occasions this season.

The Bulls visit Cape Town on Saturday (kick-off at 19:10) for what could well be a Conference-deciding showdown.

Leading bookies Ladbrokes have the Stormers as fifth-favourites for the title at 10/1, with the Bulls on offer at 16/1.

The Sharks are next best at 33/1, followed by the Lions at 80/1.

The Cheetahs are considered rank outsiders at 250/1.

New Zealand duo, the Chiefs and Hurricanes, top the odds at 5/2 and 3/1, respectively, followed by Australian duo, the defending champion Waratahs (7/2) and Brumbies (6/1).

Doubtful if any SA teams make it, it would be the Bulls and Lions .

Bulls still have to tour, Lions and Stormers already have.

If we lose against the Stormers this weekend, it's more likely to be the Stormers and the Lions.

Just to remind you, our touring record last year was 0/4.

Been a shocking campaign from a South African perspective.

TBH I'm not too phased..

In a world cup year, where we already playing too much rugby, I don't mind if we don't make the play-offs (even though we guaranteed one qualifier).

There been enough positives coming out to suggest we can send a potent squad to the world cup. The emergence of Koch and Kitschoff, a returning to form for Spies, Etzebeth and Kolisi, the emergence of adequate cover at inside centre with the likes of Damian and Odendaal.

Can't really argue. Yeah, SA representation in the final would be brilliant (whoever it might be) but looking at the bigger picture, an extra week or two off (excluding gruelling travel schedules) wouldn't go down too badly.

Back on topic though, I do think the Stormers represent SA's best shot at a title (no disrespect to the Jukskei rivals). They've toured, they have nearly a 100% fit squad and apart from one or two tough games, have a relatively 'easy' run in.

So was the Lions touring record as well and yet this year they won 3

SA teams need to wake up and start playing real running rugby. Im sick and tired of watching foot ping pong.
