DStv's existential threat

The Department of Communication and Digital Technologies recently said that streaming services like Netflix and Spotify pose an existential threat to South African broadcasters.

“On-demand music and video online streaming services are seriously disrupting the industry globally,” it stated in its annual performance plan for 2024/25.

No, South African broadcasters are the only ones posing an existential threat to themselves, no one else...

Times change, technologies change, people's habits change.. if you provide a service to people, you adapt to the changes or you die..

Unfortunately the SABC has been looted, even if they weren't, they would not have adapted either..

They could not keep up with changing markets and are no longer competitive. Not their oppositions' fault, just their own.

No they aren't.

SA Broadcasters are crap, and are the only threat to themselves.

If services like DSTV was not so expensive then there would be more uptake on their services. We vote for our entertainment with our wallets.

DSTV merely just priced themselves out of the market - and to be brutally honest - nobody really gives a shirt about them anymore - and they really can stand on their heads and whistle through their ar5es

And nothing of value will be missed.

Oh dear god, pleas get rid of this ANC from government. We need more educated people to replace them.
