Hey folks, nice to meet you all I new to this forum and from Namibia Im looking for help.

I would like to find out on my 1998 Opel Corsa B 130i - CK engine. Put it on today on the diagnostic.
The problem is slow acceleration when accelerating hard engine light come on. And the smell of fuel. And very very heavy on fuel with 20ltr of petrol I can reach max 70km of driving.

1st report:
P0500-4 undefined dtc
P0105-2 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor voltage low
P0505-8 undefined dtc

All the faults code were reset and then the following report was done

2nd report: this was done on normal idle speed

Throttle Position Sensor 0%
Throttle Position Sensor 2.85 V
Map Sensor 25.0 kpa
Map Sensor 0.82 V
Coolant Temp 4 deg C
Intake Air -9 deg C
Intake Air 2.36 V
Injection Pulse 13.7 Ms
Spark Angle before TDC -90 deg CA
Cyl 1 knock retard 10 deg CA
Cyl 2 knock retard 7 deg CA
Cyl 3 knock retard 57 deg CA
Cyl 4 knock retard 13 deg CA
O2 sensor 4 mV
Air / Fuel Ratio 4.5

What is the next step what must I do. What must I replace first. Please help me out folks.

Well these two look a bit suspect dont you think? Its making the engine run rich.

Coolant Temp 4 deg C
Intake Air -9 deg C

Also your Idle control valve could be stuck.

Thanks alot for the feedback Rickster. The idle control valve I already cleaned it. I just don't want to buy a heck of parts then it's not the fault.

What does a CK engine look like? Is it the same as ours?

Smell of fuel indicates unburt fuel, and the most common thing to fail on those is the coil. You talk about slow acceleration but you say nothing about power, does the car pulls when it's in motion? You can actually test the coil by pulling the HT leads while it's running, have some serious gloves and a good plier because it can zap you pretty good.

Lastly, what diagnostic tool do you use, I haven't found one that works on my corsa and would appreciate if you could give me the brand and model.

Hi Champ. Thanks for the feedback. I will test the coil tomorrow by remove a bit the plug wires from the coil. The power is useless almost no power and when you driving you just smell fuel. The CK is the 130i it's the same as yours on that's side the same as the Corsa lite. I will asked the guy tomorrow what tool it is and the name.

And Champ what I also like to add it happened once or twice if you accelarate pedal full down it's when the pedal gets stuck down under for a second or 3 I think also the throttle body that is dirty.

That is also a problem, over time gunk does accumulate there and cause issues, a good clean from the ICV hole and the rest of the throttle body can do no harm.

Does it have a misfire at idle?

I will just remove the whole throttle body and clean it out nice a slight misfire sound almost like a spark plug. Fitted new spark plugs around 100km back.

Don't remove it because you are going to need a new gasket, unless you meant the airfilter housing and that piece of pipe with the air sensor.

A good hose down with a carburetor cleaner will do the trick.

Thanks for the advice. Will just remove that concertina pipe from the air filter box.

If the pedal is getting stuck its more likely to be the cable. Some of the cheap ones dont last very long. You also have a lot weird sensor readings so its expensive to just replace all of them. One thing you can check is your earth cable to the chassis. Sometimes when a lot of sensors give incorrect readings its an earthing problem.

Okay so time fly. I clean all the electrical plugs and sensors what I can find. What I noticed when my Corsa is on empty the fuel light on it pulls almost normal and the engine light stays off. That's very funny...

Can it be, please check my 1st post, that my knock retard on cylinder 3 is 57, can it be an injector that is faulty.
