I called Apple about my 2013 MacBook Air which has been giving me problems and they told me I have to bring it in for repairs to replace the logic board. Problem is the nearest Apple repair is centre is in Durban (and I'm in East London) and I was wondering if someone has done this before or I have to physically bring the laptop.

Just be careful about insurance. Couriers at best will only insure against theft and not damage. I think FedEx would do theft insurance but DHL and Berco would offer no insurance at all on "used" items.

In addition to the standard DHL Express liability, we offer financial protection to our customers against all risks of physical shipment loss or damage, from any external cause.http://www.dhl.co.za/en/express/optional_services.html#containerpar_expandablelist

That's nice except when arranging the shipping back a malfunctioning PS4 for repair/refund, Berco and FedEx refused to insure it saying they don't insure "used" electronics as a policy. Only FedEx would insure it against loss but not damage. I spoke to 2 people at Berco and 3 at FedEx.

I also tried DHL but can't remember why I turned them down, it may have been this issue too. Maybe DHL is different.
