Hi guys, been quoted the following - but the installer does not have availability for a few months (they must be hectic busy)

Insofar as the pricing and costs are concerned, could I do better - and who in CT (Western Cape) would you recommend.

Didn’t realise the Sunsynk batteries were available locally.

I’ve been very happy with Somewatt so far from their responsiveness and willing attitude to discuss options.

My kit will arrive on Friday and install next Monday and I’ll definitely create a thread and comment as I go.

The kit price for the inverter & battery is in line with what I've seen elsewhere. Not many suppliers quoting on those Sunsynk batteries, but when I've seen prices they hover around R 30k.

My installer quoted R 5k for install & R 1750 for CoC, so not too far off your quote.

Ellies had those Sunsynk batteries on display when I was there last week. Didn't ask for price though as their inverter prices was higher than what I've seen elsewhere.

R30590 @ Herholdts for the battery.

I'm also installing a 5kw Sunsynk with a Hubble battery for loadshedding soon. Inverter collected on Friday, awaiting battery arrival.

Bought through Powerforum store and going with one of their recommended installers. Total quoted cost just under R 65k. Northern Subburbs Cape Town.

Glad you did not pay R18k, I remember some people were slightly annoyed with me for balking at that just for battery and inverter installation in some other thread.

The quotation does not look bad at all, I doubt you will do much better than that, there's nothing on there that looks extremely overpriced.

Slight hi-jack, but continuing in the same subject.
I'm looking for a reputable installer working in Paarl / Drakenstein (WC) area that can do a hybrid home installation that push back into the grid during day hours.
I got the green light from the finance minister and needs to get this project going.

I have a fair idea of what i want equipment wise.

Have you worked out whether it will be financially viable to feed back?

Yep - CoCT rules sucketh... I have 9.72kw of panels, but I'd only be allowed to feed back 3.6kw at a time iirc. Then I need to pay R10 000 for a special meter and R90 a month for them to read it... AND then whatever I feed back can only zero my usage, but not zero the tarrifs e.g. connection fee + meter reading fee...

Totally not worth it - unless you're going to use a ton of power in winter.

As far as I understand is that Drakenstein will accept 1 to 1 but account needs to net into a usage of 1kwh or more per month for me.
Don't take this as gospel, this is my understanding of how it works/ed in Drakenstein.

The idea is to buy extra storage on day zero to fully kill the grid switch.

Exsolar in Somerset West. Price in the middle of the pack. Been at it for a long time. Done two installations with them over the years and happy with support. Victron or nothing!
