Really?
Where about Bradley?

I'd love to.... if it's Telkom I'm guessing it's closed access Fibre, but will still be keen.
So tired of this nonsense with my DSL line.

Please post a link?

If you go here and look for fibre http://www.telkom.co.za/coverage/ its now on the available and not planned.

The residents association also sent out a letter last year stating that Telkom were fixing the infrastructure. Where abouts do you stay in Sundowner as im looking at getting myself ADSL soon, as fibre doesnt suit my needs with regard to pricing and dont want DSL trouble.

Thanks Brad.
I've also checked on their coverage map after posting.

I'm on Puttick Avenue, just about 60 metres after Denne road, which I see has coverage.
However, I'm with you on the pricing structure...
Classic Telkom... for R1099 they have a 40mbps line with 100GB cap??
I've currently got a 10mbps line, and I'm burning through an average of 300GB a month. I have no idea why fibre providers are being so stupid about these low caps.

Very silly that they haven't covered all of Puttick Avenue and stopped at one corner... there are so many complexes there, and they will definitely make their money.

Yeah it is really silly, for R300 more you can get uncapped VDSL at 40mbps.

Im fairly certain they will roll out to Puttick and that area fairly soon, surely they can see all the money there

True, but unfortunately there is no VDSL coverage here either :(

Where about do you live?

I stay just down the road from the Sundowner Pub, so right in the center of the Fibre

Oh nice!
One of my buddies lives there as well in the Sundowner Park complex.
If Telkom get their collective heads of out of their nether regions, then I might take this up.
Very frustrating to know that it's there but not really. They don't even let you choose your own data cap - it looks that if you want more data, you must get the 100mb/s line, and then too, you're still only limited to 200GB.

Not exactly, but I'm also on Puttick.
The great news is that the conduits are already in, and they didn't even have to trench.
The next step is for them to blow the fibre into the conduits, but not sure when that will be done or if it already has been done.
I've watched some videos on YouTube, and for our length along Puttick it should take them a few hours to do at most.
Once that's done, it'll just be a case of Telkom terminating the fibre into their equipment and obviously configuring the ports.

I'm hoping that in another three months or so, we'll be able to place our order.

Well, Vuma is moving into Sundowner, and I signed up with Telkom, which I regret badly now :(
