Amazingly I managed to receive a reasonable quality voice call with viber over a 2g connection, which I think is bloody amazing on top of that the 10min account only used 2mb from my data bundle.

I use it quite often(Using WiFi mostly) esp seeing that some of the people I phone is in other countries.

Nice to know about the 2G thing...

@mmmig Was it using Edge?

So I guess it doesn't use a lot of bandwidth? I mean on Wifi.

Well unlike other offerings I have tried quality is quite stable and sometimes I forget that I am using Wifi on my phone and its not a normal phone call.

Im just waiting for the ICS update as it does not work @ all on ICS which really sux.

@mercurial - The bandwidth rate during a Viber call is approximately 240 KB per minute up and down, 14 MB per hour up and down.

@CranialBlaze - We are doing our best to release an update for ICS as fast as we can. As you know, many fundamental changes were made on ICS so in order to adapt Viber to ICS and make sure we don't release a half-baked app, we need some time for developing and testing.

If anyone has questions I'll be happy to assist.

As far as quality goes Viber is probably the best VIOP I've used.

The best part must still be the fact that viber goes through your contact list and tells you who else has got it!

Yep, its currently under development, but unfortunately we still don't have exact release dates as of yet. Once we have any concrete news, we'll keep you posted :)

Hey Mr Viber rep, I can't get a concrete answer on the HTC ChaCha, can you rule definitively for me please: does Viber *definitely* work on said device?

At the moment, Viber works fine on ChaCha (if it's rooted or it has a Custom ROM installed, then we can't guarantee it, but it should still work to a good extent).
However, there is a known issue with landscape mode.

This issue will be resolved in our upcoming new version 2.1.3 (coming to Market soon).

Thanx Viber you have no idea how much it promotes your product in my view, even so much that tell people I dont have Skype and they should Viber me :)
