Supermicro server, 5xGbe Intel LAN, Intel 1.74GHz Atom, 4GB RAM, 120GB SSD - Sale

"Now I have to go out of my way to sign him up to every spam list on earth"

You are too kind I got so many calls from Outsurance the other day I started dropped f-bombs and finally they understood that I will reply by email since they asked very specific things via email and I wanted a paper trail. I want the satan salt crew back, they would chill the first time around.
LOL - what did you sell a carbonite user to get all those calls?

It was actually a request for a quote for pet insurance of all things and they just wouldn't stop calling after sending me an email. I was busy doing remote support mixed with telephone calls and they just kept phoning every single bloody hour.

We recently got some for our Siamese. Onepet is the name of the company, have not had to use it but seems reasonable so far.

Shame, these poor telemarketers today - they are a different crowd from the ones that do cold calling, far more polite. Pity that had to waste their time and mine.

Soo, whats the update?
Same same. Have not heard anything since I did the refund and politely said to GTFO. Something I should have done months ago when I was pestered with unreasonable claims about the power supply that came with the unit.

Still contemplating if I should contact the mods here and on carbontripe and ask them to take action based on the fact that my number was used for insurance quotes purely as a means to aggravate me.

Sheesh all of this for a R1000 sale o_O

Anyhow when it come to used/old server gear (especially supermicro) you can expect some driver strangeness and having to jump trough some hoops to get everything working.

LOL - tell me about it! That is why I just decided stuff it, I'll do a refund, don't send it back, just be gone. It really is not worth it.

You could argue and say, OK, I spent R460 on a piece of hardware, lobbed in a R300 SSD, applied a Windows 10 key (can't remember the cost), contributed R60 towards the shipping then spent another R230 on a power supply - meh.

I do get why My_King said that this is why he does not do sales, but really this is the exception. I sell loads of stuff and its always happiness all-round. There is a general understanding between seller and buyer when dealing with used stuff.

However,.... once or twice a year.....

Look on the bright side - back in December I told people to not use Carbonshyte as I heard bad things about it. Well now I have firsthand experience, I mean when you go on there boasting that you are going to use someone's phone number on spamlists - and then follow through with it.

Yeah - Carbonite move alright. @Enzo Matrix @ninjaman509 @Maq @goldfritter ?

The only thing I asked on the carb thread was why doesn't he just send it back to you and get a refund. Seems like he just was trying to be difficult.

Even on Carb if there is some kind of disagreement or misunderstanding about the condition of a product the simplest option seems to just give the thing back and get your money back.

No idea why this guy wanted to sign you up for spam and the likes. Ridiculous

I mean I'm just a regular user on carb so unsure why you tagged me  I have no dog in this fight

I once spent 2 hours at a house where I sold a GPU. Even drove there for free.

Removed the old GPU inserted my old one....

Windows booted and as no drivers were loaded. Loaded the drivers and when Windows booted we waited 15 minutes for the system to boot, it didn't.

Tried again and the Windows was still stuck on Windows boot screen.
Asked the guy to please remove all extra HDD's and the system booted. Plugged the drives in and everything was back up and running. Been a few years and no issues with him since then.

My stuff I sell works... why do I need to get soo involved?
