F uck I'm hating my Jamo's, seriously they officially crap!!!

I'm talking about these...

Too small to make an impression other than aesthetically, they are f ucking beautiful but LACK SUBSTANCE!!! I hate the sound they emit, tiny and puny!!!!

Given them a good couple of months to settle and for them to grow on me but it aint happening!!

What should I be paying for the 2 fronts do you think??!!!

aahhh.. I see you not happy with that other set that you bought. I was all set to buy those originally, but after one or two people (including yourself) said that they lack mid and "oemfff" I decided to increase my budget.

Are those S526's? S516's?

Edit: Nevermind I see they S426's

have you ever heard S426's?

shame man... :( poor oke. I hate that feeling of "damn, I have bought the wrong thing!"

sand_man, I have the S426's. Im not audio expert, but my father is quite clued up. He was in the industry for a long time, and knows a lot about the older school amps and speakers. Having said that, he has worked with a lot of equipment over the years...

One night when I was out, he took my speakers for a ride. When I got back that evening, he said that he through everything (music wise) at them, and in his opinion its one of the best systems he has played with, for the price that I paid. His only gripe was that, for him, the bass wasnt enough from the SUB 210.

Having said that, I followed the Marantz 1402 guide, so I was filtering out quite a bit of the bass frequency. I would imagine that I would be able to get a little more bass if I adjusted settings on the amp.

All in all, I think its a brilliant system and worth the money spent.

Glad I could be of assistance. I kind've like all things Jamo so bought these blind, what a mistake that was!!! I haven't heard the S426's no but I'm afraid I've been impulsive again. Details below...

Indeed. I guess I could have listened a little closer.

Yip, I could have saved myself a few headaches. I always tell myself, you get what you pay for, 9/10, so Ja, at R5.5k it seemed like a great deal but it probably wasn't!!

Guys I've been impulsive once again. Been on AVForums and just concluded the following purchase....

Jamo S60 centre speaker @R500

Monitor Audio BX2 @R2750-00

I'm relatively confident that this acquistion will greatly enhance the overall experience. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG!!!

It's a done deal, again, gone in blind, spoke to the seller telephonically, paid him and will collect within the next couple of days.

lol you dont learn from mistakes do you  :)

googling them now... lets see what the net says about those!

edit : ok im no expert, but from I can see that center is awesome, and those bookshelves (which I assume you gonna use for front) look pretty good too?

If you getting such a big center why you getting such small fronts? :)

then a much more technical observation... I see the center is 6 ohms and the fronts are 8 ohms. I dont know if that will be a problem??

Your amp should hopefully be able to switch impedance of the channels independently but the biggest problem there is lack of timbre matching. Only one way to find out though and that's to actually listen to them on your amp and probably fiddle with the settings a bit.

sounds risky. I would rather try and find some fronts that are 6 ohm.

guess its up to you though...

Ja, I'm going to be sitting with the proverbial fruit salad here now. My sub is Sony btw!!! left/right rears the A101 Jamo's, centre S60 and fronts BX2's. :wtf:

Lol, done deal, eft processed. I must just suck it up now regardless of the net results. Seriously though nothing could be more impotent than my current setup. On their own the BX2's and S60 seem very competent but as a set they might not compliment each other. The rears, if anything, will blend further into obscurity paired with the S60 and BX2, not the end of the world....

cant you tell the guy you made a mistake and that you changed your mind? :)

Im sure he would mind eft'ing the money back to you. the guys on those forums are quite reasonable if you just explain that you forgot to look at the impendence

I guess.... And he sold me both... Neglected to mention impedance... Need to research a bit and see if it's a problem on modern amps...
