OK, I am going for the FL2, mainly because it is a more economical diesel, has really low mileage (13k), better boot space, really cool PDC, better sound system, and Oz websites lead me to believe that I can install an integrated reverse camera. It is also the latest spec FL2, I would not go for the previous spec (pre MY13).

Unless the LR dealer gives me trouble, there are two contentious issues, someone at the dealership swapped the new spare tyre/rim for an old tyre/rim, and they want to charge R3500 for onroad costs, this is a used vehicle, already has number plates, etc.

The Subaru is a new and current model, has a great sunroof, rear camera, better headlights, better rims/tyres and is not really a slouch in the other areas. Except that it has no PDC, and the aftermarket ones are not great.

If the LR2 was new, at the excessive LR2 new price I would have gone for the Subaru, much better value for money. In fact, I have not even seen other used FL2's that are worth it, so if this deal falls through for any reason then I am going Subaru.

Jimny is fantastic for short Off Road stuff, but could you personally live with it on a long trip??

All you have to do is remember it's fuel economy :D. Besides the slower you go, the more time you have to look at our beautiful country.

Good luck, and many happy motoring miles.

Excellent choice with the FL2.

To me it just feels more of a "premium" product compared to the Subaru.

Hope the deal comes through and you have many happy miles!
