Sheesh - why not just add desktop support to that as well. Madness!

Key number is missing? How many clients/servers.

Doing above for 10 people = easy money, doing it for 500 you need a department not 1 guy.

Did similar job for 10 years for over 50 users and still had load of time on my hands to do desktop support.

Very much this. I do pretty much all of the above for an office of 40, while doing in-house dev work, and it's manageable (with a well set up infrastrcuture). Would be another matter if it were 100 or 200 users though. Curious to see whether the OP will post a salary.

Manageable until you need sick leave or a holiday, so in the long run no - it's not manageable. My guess is they want all of the above for +-15k CTC and then wonder why the candidate isn't the best or why they burn out and leave.

I can do all of that, but I won't take a 1 man salary for doing a departments job.

So it comes down to the number.

You must be new here.

Also perhaps new to the industry? Seen plenty of posts like this for small startups

It depends on size. But on scale I can count at least six different disciplines outside of sysadmin. Database, Network, Security, Web, Postmaster & Operator.

I can't speak for the others but I never take on these swiss army knife jobs. Maybe I'm just used to working in a different environment. Maybe I'm just jaded. That being said we probably should not be trolling this guys job listing. Maybe there are people willing to do all those things.

And maybe we are saving the guy from a heart attack/stroke from all this work...

MyBB... We care about peoples health and working conditions. :p
