The Blackview looks alright - Specs seem okay, and the display is probably good. I would still look at one of the budget Samsung devices (Tab A9 perhaps?) over the no-name of the Blackview. You never know with these Chinese imports whether you're ever going to see security updates, and the software will be pretty barebones.
My ideal case would be to find a cheap Tab S5e/S7 and then install a custom ROM on it to keep it up to date, if you don't mind a little hacking.

Have you considered the Kindle Fire tablets?
I won one here on Mybroadband a couple years back and have been happy with it. Sure, it's locked into the Amazon ecosystem but I side loaded the Play Store and operates perfectly fine. If it's just for watching media, browsing etc, could be an option

Are covers and screen protectors available for these..? Needing to get some tablets for the kiddos and they would have these scratched and cracked in hours without some form of protection..Cheap as chips, decent display, decent sound

Haven't seen any on the tablets, wife uses hers for Minecraft. I use mine for streaming

Which phone..?
I have had the redmi note 9 pro, the 10, wife had the 11, I am now on the 12 and she is on the 13 after a recent upgrade and neither of us has had a single ad served to us on any of these phones..
