Takealot and Kalahari merger – the details

Odd choice to of branding if you consider that on a tandem bike, the rider in front pedals/steers and is typically referred to the captain; whereas the rear driver (especially if it is an overweight SO) hardly ever pedals. FWIW on Wikipedia they call the rear driver rear admiral.

Please Takealot just don't start including second hand items in search results like Kalahari. if you do I'll be moving to Raru permanently.

No problem with moving my Kalahari account details across - went smoothly.

Did it take across all your Kalahari orders and digital books? And did you have an account already or a new one? Need to get this sorted out, as my kid's school books are all via Kalahari and this is now going to be an epic F-UP as the reauth hardly ever works.

Just checked and my order history is empty although it should contain all of 2014 and part of 2013, could be a problem iro of guarantees.

... btw - I didn't have an existing Takealot account.

Decided I'm done with Takealot. The Mr Delivery muppets gave my latest order to some random person at reception to sign. Can't trust them to deliver anymore.

Huh? Every courier give my deliveries to the reception to sign. That's the point of the receptionist.

Not when you work at a company with... Oh... 13 000 employees and you try to deliver it to the wrong damn building.

So if you happen to be out or not at your desk what then?

Much easier when the receptionist signs.

They're actually not allowed to. If I'm unavailable then sucks to be me. Or I get a minion to go collect.

Fair enough, but you haven't paid the delivery guy for an entire day. He's got other things to do, and it's really your responsibility to address the package properly, so that it ends up in the right building.

It was addressed correctly. The company has buildings in multiple adjoining streets. He took it to a building with a different address as to what was on the delivery address.

You should have lead with that - I can completely sympathise, I mean he has one ****ing job, "get this box to this address", and he ****s it up. Thankfully, my office is smaller.

Forgive me for thinking people would assume that I'm competent enough to address something to myself

Err isn't that what they do at the reception? :wtf:

As I said, no, it's not when you're in a set of buildings with several thousand staff. The courier delivers directly to you at your desk or gets you to come down to the lobby if they happen to not have the appropriate agreements in place.
You most certainly don't go dumping it at whoever is willing to take it, at a completely different building.

I've got Kalahari credit. Should I wait 2 more days then I can use that credit on TA as well?

Reception doesn't qualify as "whoever is willing to take it", it's their job.
