Takealot is seriously dropping the ball hard in several aspects:
1. Cant get orders right. More recently I ordered 2 x Smart breakers, same product, same listing, literally just increased the quantity to 2 on checkout. I received 1 and in place of the 2nd one, they sent me a Paw Patrol toy set. Dafuq
2. Return was a nightmare. Logged return in the morning, got no feedback by late afternoon so I called in. 20min sitting on hold, felt like I was trying to get hold of Telkom in 2008. Person told me I can drop off at the pickup point and everything has been handled. Went to the pickup point and was told that they cant accept the return because even though I have a return number and they can see its logged to be returned at their branch, Takealot has not yet approved the return. Worst of all, they now want 3 working days to transfer the goods back to their branch and a further 5 working days after that for assessment. Nee man.
3. Collection for in stock items used to be same day if ordered before 10am, or next day if ordered any time after that. Now collection is 3+ days for in stock items. Like, wtf, wheres the urgency.
I've said this 3 times in the last 2 days, how can a company, who just posted a R250million loss this last financial year, a R400million loss the year prior, and now has Amazon as direct competition, afford to offer an ever degrading level of service?
Working in retail myself with an extensive background in after sales service and support, it boggles my mind that a company such as Takealot cant seem to get the basics right anymore.
