I agree. We must be able tay "we, as 40% of the customer base, demand service or rebates". Except I dont have the list.

Its one single message and it would be beneficial to the recipient.

I agree with the above action. PLEASE make sure you blind copy everyone tho. I'd hate every sentech customer to have access to my e-mail address.

If multiple users originate this email, stick in an additional paragraph with a request to merely delete it and apologies if already received, as there will clearly be more than one SuckTech user who would initiate the email action, in the interests of group consumer benefit...

If you do this, make sure you do not mail the same person twice. This will just cause the person receiving the mails extra frustration. So either one person must do all the mailings or split the list between a few people.

I was originally in two minds as to whether the database should be used or not. But now that Sentech has not kept their promise (not a big surprise), I agree that the database should be used. They have had months to fix the problem. But it just shows you what happens when you don't take your customers seriously.

cannon - while I am personally loathe to such mass mailings I agree that it is time for an escalation... Do you not still have the mailling list in place ?

Cannon your services will be required in this for sure.
I strongly suggest that the email we send out be proof read by all, and then OK'ed by the moderators before emailing it - we don't want to muddy the name of MyADSL.co.za with poor grammar, spelling and/or taste.

Good to see you okes are starting to take more direct action.

As unsavoury as it is to have to resort to such tactics ... they are now needed.

But for heavens sake post the draft openly and go through it anally. You only get one shot at this ... dont fsck it up.

This thing needs to read like professional PR release not a whine.

Dear Sentech Customer

We are an online community of MyWireless users, struggling to get accountability from Sentech for the lack of speeds and insultingly poor service that Sentech is providing.

Sentech promised that its service would be 'fixed' by the end of August - it has failed to do so.

Added to this, the 'help desk' routinely lies to its customers, telling everyone who calls that they are the only ones with any problem. This is untrue - and if you've been told this - then you have been lied to.

Sentech is also facing potential legal action after complaints by users to the Advertising Standards Authority, given that Sentech is clearly not providing the 'broadband' it advertises.

Please visit the online independent forum at (http://www.myadsl.co.za/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=18) and read the info and join forces with the many many other Sentech users who are finding each other online - despite Sentech's ongoing attempts to keep us separate and unaware of each other.

Another site which contains valuable information, that Sentech's 'help desk' won't tell you about, is Poopband http://poopband.co.za/modules/news/

A great site that deals with the Telkom and telecomunications in south africa.
http://www.hellkom.co.za

Visit the Forum, read the articles by fellow Sentech users, and if you've been having a slow or unpleasant MyWireless experience, discover that you are not alone in this.

(This email is being sent anonymously, and your address was obtained after Sentech 'accidentally' mailed out its entire database of customers email addresses, a few weeks ago - something it has not advised all its customers of.)

best wishes

A GROUP OF SENTECH CUSTOMERS

It is a pity is had to come to this but I guess there is no alternative.

Let's show South Africa that SA consumers CAN stand up and unite against anal corporations!

I think you should take the hellkom part out though, this is not a free for all ad, you just need to make the users aware of the forums and how sentech as been lying ...

Can I add in another action to take?

Go to http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/internet/2004/0408230922.asp

(and any other Sentech/MyWireless stories that allow for comments)

and say just what you think. I realise this is an "old" story but there aren't any "newer" ones yet.

Please post the URLs of any other stories that are suitable.
