Is mini-LED the same as quantum dot?

No, from what I researched, Mini-Led is a backlighting technology that use much smaller LEDs resulted in great light control.
Quantum Dot are particles placed in front of those LEDs that expanded the colour range of the pixels

That Toshiba Z770 seems to be fantastic value for money (although it is not mini LED)

Agreed, cheapest 120hz TV I saw so far .. If TLC doesn't come thru then I might get the Toshiba ,it's 17k at Makro, dirt cheap

Yeah, and honestly at this point I'm not expecting anything before next year from TCL...

It might work out timing wise for me, but its definitely not gonna work out for them in terms of market penetration.

The two are very similar, but with the MiniLED, the LEDs are so tiny they are almost as small as one single pixel.

Stuff.co.za review of the C835. They say it's R25000 for the 65 inch.

It's still not available anywhere that I can find, and there isn't an ETA either.

We'll just keep guessing, since TCL themselves are useless at providing any information
