I'm glad you still have a sense of humour about this. :)

Well, it is either laugh or crawl into a corner and bawl my eyes out. Besides...mine is working much better....I suspect its the other guys on here that is seriously gonna start losing their temper and cool soon. BUT...just cause mine has been fixed dont mean I am forgetting about this. I was one of the first ones to have reported and moaned about this...and I wont stop till it has been fixed for everyone. This is something that needs to be seen through to the end.

Wow...where did that come from????

:)

I love the fact they are pushing the droids but without working push technology you might as well have a nokia.

I agree fully. They are taking a OS that is fantastic and turning downgrading it to the capability of Symbian!!! BLEH!

I object to the turn this thread is taking, any more Nokia bashing and I'm going to PM Rouxenator, and then you can consider this thread closed.

Lol. Hey if I could get android on a nokia built phone I would be very happy.

Too bad the previous CEO said that adopting android is like pissing on yourself. I am pretty sure this made google accelerate androids' development and kicked their arrogant asses.

no no....dont wanna upset ginggs. This thread can not be closed before it is resolved.

You're right about this thread....
Surprised it hasn't been "stickied" yet, considering how widespread this issue is.

My Defy with Red Bull Mobile has no push/receive whatever one calls it technology. Would I still have this issue if I popped the simcard (once cut) into my iPhone 4?

I think you will, but do try it and report back.

But but that means I gotta cut up my simcard, sigh! Oh well can always get an adapter if I change my mind.

Considering iPhone is using Apple Push Notification Service (APNS), which uses an "always on" TCP port 5223 connection, similar to Android's port 5228 C2DM connection for "push" notification, there is a good chance you may experience this issue.

However, my testing at the moment is showing very erratic results, with some messages coming through in seconds at times and then delayed again.

All feedback on this issue is welcome, as we are all keen to see this resolved by Cell C network support, as soon as possible.

The crazy thing is, that there are probably so many other Cell C customers who are not even aware this is happening and how much better their experience with Gtalk, Gmail and WhatsApp on Cell C should be.

As was mentioned before, most people who make use of these services, porting to Cell C from the other networks, don't take long to notice the problem.

Whatsapp doesn't suck, Push tech on Cell C/Virgin sucks... don't blame the service blame the network. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.
