You wear denim shorts? You're over 55 right? :p

Well, cut at the knee. Dunno if that makes them shorts or something else - boardshorts?

They're very nice for summer on the bike or jetski - holds your beer money tight to your body.

Its like cars. You get a BMW and a Kia.

Both have the same size engines. Both get you from A to B. The Kia might come with more stuff as standard. Some people may be of the opinion the Kia looks better.

But the BMW will still cost more.

Same goes with the Stone Harbour vs Ackermans jeans or any other brand.

My experience with clothes (including jeans) and shoes is that the more expensive items last longer and are more cost effective in the long run. I've bought cheap jeans that I've worn holes into (especially on the knees) within a year but I have a pair of Levis that are nearly 10 years old with no holes in them yet...

What's even more impressive is that you've managed to maintain your waist size for 10 years :D

That happened to me with sandals and shoes...
Though I`ve got 4 year old shirts that are as good as new and they were no name pnp stuff

The pricing in SA is total scam!
I bought a pair of shoes today! The exact same model and pair of shoes, the gray one is R400 and the Brown one is R300!:wtf:

LOL.

R449 should buy you a pair of Levi's. Two pairs if they are on special even.

Who walks into a clothing store and asks where the cheapest line is anyway?

Problem is that US Levis and SA levis are completely different. US ones - better denim every size and leg style under the sun including velcro straps for Arthur.
Here the choice is not so good
Actually all my clothes are about 20 years old (not that they all fit anymore) because I don't buy cheap Chinese junk and when I go clothes shopping its normally at factory stores overseas. The quality in SA is just dreadful. You really have to see the clothes in the cheaper UK stores and US stores to see just how bad we are getting shafted in SA - especially with Brand name (Surf brands) made under license in SA. It's appalling.

I met this girl once - earns a good salary in a woodstock clothing factory (one of the few left) that supply all the Big chains - Stuttafords , Edgars, etc and she called herself a designer. Well several times a year work sends her to all the shows where they take the fashions and photograph then in cubicles and on return home they make them up as exact copies which become the next line in the various retail stores. Uggh.

I do.
I wanted a cheap jean for all purpose use. The particular jean appealed to me and I bought it. Yes I could have bought a Levi for the same price but that didn't happen

I'm not top brand conscious with clothes but I buy Levi's when I see them at decent prices because I have a shorter inseam than the norm for most jeans and therefore don't need to have them shortened later.

Levi's like Oakley is at least a brand that is genuine quality and not just a fancy name with no substance.

If anything jeans are the things to spend decent money on due to their all purpose and long lasting nature.

If you are happy to pay that, then go straight to the Levi store next time.

Depends on the scenario. e.g. I used to shred through jeans when I was younger because they got caught up in my bike's chain.

Levi isn't going to help in that scenario.

But you don't like it so take it back and get 2 more pairs from AC Kermans.

I concur. Buy what fits your wallet and what you like dont worry about anyone else
