Those headphones are also priced pretty nicely.

Dion Wired has a special on Sennheiser headphones, with the HD449 West closed headphones for R900, and the wireless RS120II on sale for R1,200.

What is the normal un-special price for these?

I know Dionwired were selling the Sennheiser HD449's for R1000. So only R100 off, but their price was already quite good compared to others..

It looks like Dion Wired's normal price for the RS120II is R1400

About a 14-18% saving. Not as great as I thought at first, but a saving nonetheless.

I think the lowest online price I found earlier with the help of Google was about R1299 and the highest about R1699 (my short term memory is slightly befuzzled by alcohol). Dion Wired's special price is good but not exactly great.

Stay well clear of those cordless ones. They pick up interference from cellphones and other electronics if they're nearby. Very annoying. I bought mine on special for R999 a few years ago, they seem to be one of those products constantly on special :)

That's exactly why new cordless headphones are still on my wishlist: even the ones that reviews rate as being really crappy are >R1000 and I'm not convinced that Bluetooth is the best option for battery life.

I have a set of RS120s - they work great, no issues.

I must have missed those then, also I feel that the DELL brand name perhaps adds to that price.

True.
Though a friend advised me to stay away from Dell - because of the fan being placed in a bad position.
I forget - might have been for older spec notebooks though.

If I am not mistaken, those headphones use FM modulation i.e. quality is not gonna be near digital quality.

The RS170 and RS180 are the digital ones.

Surely applied to a specific model. But what is a bad position?
