Just out of curiosity, have any of you created/developed any telegram apps/bots yet?

Not worth my time or effort to create a bot for a platform I don't even use.

Yes, Hamster and I wrote one. That asked for vleis or something. I can't recall now. I lost interest after about 10mins.

Yes we wrote one. I never went too deep into it but if you explore the API you can write some pretty useful stuff since it gives you the ability to add buttons/quick responses to a message.

The best one I've seen was a turn based game where you had to farm wheat, build houses etc.

Too be honest though - even if you wrote the most awesome bot the lack of users on the platform us enough to make you lose interest.

If WhatsApp is to ever allow bots on their platform then I'll relook it.

Exactly. I have one contact on Telegram, and even we only chat on Whatsapp only. Honestly, I can easily make a bot that does awesome, but that involves actually remembering I programmed a bot for said platform.

Very narrow minded tbh
Actually, I had a simple bot going just to test it. It was not anything special, but I decided I'd much rather look into a small website to do what I want to do rather. A small website will gave me way more flexibility, and allow me to do what I want to do with a little less effort. I'll relook the bot thing, but at the end of the day the question becomes: is it worth splashing hours into something that will only be used once?

Join a meet up.

Not really, you wouldn't be creating Android apps unless you've used Android.
I would create Android and ios apps because that's the market even though I own a Windows phone.

If you don't use Android or iOS how would you know the experience to create? Each ecosystem is different. One of the reasons 'native' apps are favored is because the experience is tailored to the platform, not a one solution fits all scenario.

A good developer knows.

Just because I don't own or use mac doesn't mean I'm blind and oblivious to what it offers and what it's about.

(I'm a Apple software fan of note, just a very frugal being so won't buy one unfortunately)
