Telegram Messenger message not sent

Hi.

My friend, who lives in New Zealand, recently dropped Whatsapp for Telegram. To maintain regular daily contact with him, I installed Telegram on my Lumia, but have yet to get it to work: it keeps on trying to use Cell C text services [SMS?], and I don’t get SMSes on my current smartphone contract. I don’t see anything on Telegram’s settings page that I could use to change how messages are sent.

Have any of you encountered this problem before? If so, how did you resolve it?

you entered a cell number and you have still not gotten the sms is that the case?

did you check the number?
if you are trying to use a sim that cant get smses then it wont ever work.

try setting up an account with a number that will get an sms. and simply adding him as a contact after.

No, what I clearly didn't explain very well is that Telegram is trying to use Cell C's texting system to send messages.

I have not been able to find where one can change the option for "Send on"

ah ok now I get it.


go into the menu.

go to invite friends.

now I know on android you get an option of how to share the message. you can even send it via whatsapp. however because its a telegram.org link whatsapp will not display it as a http link
IE it will not be clickable.

if you are on iOS I have no idea how the sharing works on there...
