Telkom explains why it filed a court application to set aside Icasa’s decision to give the regulatory go-ahead for the transfer of Neotel licences to Vodacom.

... also, are Neotel currently using this spectrum and, if so, what would be the impact on their clients?

Its so funny when Telkom complains about "level playing fields", they are acting like the metered taxis. Vodacom/Neotel is going to cripple Telkom.

If I was government I would have sold the Telkom Shares and kept the vodacom shares.

Yeah right, Neotels had gawd knows how long to cripple Telkom on the fixed line front and all they've done is cherry pick their clients. Do you really believe this proposed merger would change the status quo?

I'm with Telkom on this. The transfer of spectrum would only favour Vodacom but as usual Icasa does just as it wishes without considering the law.

If Telkom had offered businesses, competive Fiber rates like Neotel NeoBB and NeoVoice SIP Trunks ,
they would have had the market due to their extended fiber coverage years ago.
