In a recent press statement ICASA announced that the Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC) will hold hearings on 24, 25 and 26th October 2007.

Typical - 26th is same date as telkom agm. rpm we need to talk re this- have you been in contact with tommygun? He's asked me to (partially) represent to icasa on this.

im just being realistic, rather expect the worst than have my hopes shattered like the countless other times

Sorry, bitch mode came out there.

Is always best to go in with a positive attitude, because without such there is no passion, and a lack of passion is deadly. Sorry acidrain, didnt mean to be as bitchy as i came across as.

ICASA: Wooth Woooth (sound of toothless dog barking) Naughty TELKOM.
TELKOM: We know, but our system does not allow us to blah blah blah.
ICASA: Naughty naughty, lets review your progress in say 6 months while you continue to screw the public. (humps TELKOM's leg)

Soz, it's all a bit of a joke really.

Telkom will say distinguishing local from international is not possible, too complex and they will lose money.
Same old story.

Except that these hearings are about Telkom's non-compliance with the regulations. The regulations are already law. They are no longer open to debate.

Then why is ICASA having hearings if it's already law and not imposing fines on Telkom?
