So, one of the dates need to be changed. I don't think the AGM date will be changed.

huh I think I'm going to get sick all over this article.
Delays hearings paperwork more administration and buirocracy.

Once the hearing is over and some action is set, telkom will challenge it in court, and there goes another year of non complience...

LADS we odd to take this to our own hands, storm the headquarters and chop some heads off like the dirty French peasants did back in somethingfucek .....

Can we maybe confirm this with a poll?

I'm always behind Debbie and Co 100%, even tho I cannot afford to help them financially.

I appreciate their hard work and efforts, especially Dominic, who also put a lot of effort in.

Countless of times our hopes have been dashed, but, like the saying, hope springs eternal, maybe we will make a breakthrough this time.

It also depresses myself, seeing that our hopes are constantly shot down, but I don't allow that to overrule myself, and, as Debbie pointed out, is best to remain positive.

Otherwise you will croak.

So I remain optimistic that something will happen this time. :)

Regards

Whoever will do presentations, good luck! I am sure every single person here is behind you guys 100%. We don't expect you to conquer the world and remember a nil result doesn't mean you lost! It means the rules were bent by Telkom...

I definately and very gladly add my voice of support to this.

I would love to be able to make it to the hearings just to listen to what goes on (if that would be possible) but like most working saps here I have meetings to go to ... yay! \o/

As was mentioned earlier Debbie and Dominic and anyone else who will be there on our side.
Vat hom fluffy, and give them stick. :D

Then why is ICASA having hearings if it's already law and not imposing fines on Telkom?

I agree with that. The ASA seems to have more teeth than ICASA. Might not be ICASA's fault or whatever, but Telkom are breaking the law. End of story. No hearing, no appeals. Nothing. Fine them, fine them big, R250 000 or more a day will solve the problem within a week.

Stop barking ICASA and go for the throat. If you do that you'll have the support of everyone.

If you don't, you'll just be proving to all these people that you are toothless little puppy.

Now they real question is, are they actually going to do something this time except talk about it?

Even the ASA holds hearings when advertising complaints are received. In my own company, they hold disciplinary hearings when company policy is breached. They don't just hand down autonomous rulings without taking arguments into account. It is the basis of a legal system that both sides are heard.

Even Telkom has the right to defend themselves. More's the pity.

Isn't it just a matter of laying a criminal charge against the CEO of Telkom for not ensuring compliance with the law? I'm no legal eagle but I'm sure if its gazetted its law and noone is above the law so therefore the National Prosecuting Authority would have to act?

Even that would eventually result in hearings.

ICASA: Wooth Woooth (sound of toothless dog barking) Naughty TELKOM.
TELKOM: We know, but our system does not allow us to blah blah blah.
ICASA: Naughty naughty, lets review your progress in say 6 months while you continue to screw the public. (humps TELKOM's leg)

Soz, it's all a bit of a joke really.
There is only one thing that !CASA's CCC can do to make me smile about !CASA's useless ADSL Regulations, and for me that does not even involve a pop quiz from !CASA with tea & cookies, to find out when Telkodemonopolies might bother to comply with the unambiguous clauses in !CASA's ADSL Regulations.

What will make me smile, is if !CASA's CCC imposes a reasonable fine per unambiguous clause, say R1000000 per clause per day, on Telkodemonopolies for non-compliance. If !CASA's CCC is not prepared to impose a fine, then !CASA is again a big part of the problem and not a possible solution or part thereof.

Having said all that, I admire Debbie2's resolve.
