I'm guessing that's why you're being given the run around, my line is with Telkom and from past experience I will not give it to another ISP.

upgrade to 10mb line
really????????? I think there is a thread somewhere here where I spoke about my line and I think it is running on 384 and my telkom account says 512 or something like that. So do I phone telkom to say upgrade me and is it worth it and is there a cost involved?

yes phone them its 0800 375 375, yes you will be billed for 4mb line something like R430 a month

cool, thanks man for the help. I must check what we pay now cause they ripped us off a month ago and was paying double for nothing so we complained and went back to the normal setup. This was a package deal they offered saying it was cheaper yada yada yada yet it was doubled.

Bloody useless Telkom brain dead monkey brains. They tell me that if you can get it, you will have it, you cannot phone them and ask them to activate it. Yet my exchange can handle 10 mb and my stats say I can and also have turned on ADSL2 and nothing

Lying swines! For the hell of it I would like to phone them and ask them to reset my profile and see what I sync at, but then with my luck they will see soon sync me down to 2Mbps.

They told me the same. They say that the technician who did the 10Mbps upgrade will switch everyone over to 10Mb profile when the exchange is converted. If he didn't, it will take then a week or two before the exchange becomes upgradeable from the helpdesk, as it's not yet for the new profile available yet.
