Telkom - 1st place winner for incompetence

Hi Guys,

Has anyone tried doing a payment for Telkom today on their Web site? All I get when trying to pay for my ridiculously expensive ADSL is an "issuer or switch inoperative" error message.

Maybe the ten-year old who designed this page for them has gone on strike? It was supposed to be integrated into Telkom's Web site at least two weeks ago according to an e-mail they sent out, but of course they cannot even keep up with their own deadlines.

I prefer to just do a transfer with Internet banking.
Having Telkom mess around with my personal finances doesn't give me good vibes.

I am to scared to do a transfer. I go to a Telkom shop and pay.

I find it funny that all my other accounts I pay via the internet but I am way to scared to pay telkom via EFT.

The service is still not up, and there are no indication when it will be rectified. When logging into the account I now get this response:

"Dear Online Bill customer, We would like to inform you that due to technical problems, the payment facility will not be available until further notice. We regret the inconvenience caused. Online Bill Administrator"

"Until further notice" in Telkom language means ha-ha you are screwed. We will bring this service back online when we feel like it and you WILL be thankful.

I use their so called service to pay them with a credit card every month
Last month I paid them and the payment was indicated as paid
When I recieved my bill they did not factor the payement and proceeded to charge me interest on an overdue payment even though I paid them on time. Their website even states payment recieved!!!!! The effort ivolved in getting that money (interest on overdue payment) was simply not worth the stupidity I would have to deal with along the way.

With TELSCUM nothing surprises me. They will present us with the worst of the worst, always. Hating them is simply not enough.
