Tell me what I'm missing... - it seems a 2 meg line is 2600 beans a month and installation is 20 grand..

It's correct, though those Megaline tarrifs are for distances below 50km and they no longer supply the bronze package to new customers, you can only get the silver package which is almost twice the price. Check out the link :

Looks like you get ripped the second you go over 50km.

That prices seems alright, you get a SLA and gurantees, but what are the catches? No international connectivity? If so a slow 32k split? A CAP?

And how much would an ISP cost I wonder, prolly twice as much as the line itself!

The catch is connects one point to another. It provides no connection to the internet at all! So you are welcome to use it to connect one fairly close branch to another, or to a close by ISP. However to get 2meg of internet connection provisioned via that line is gona cost you a huge fortune.
