Telkom 3G - 850MHz Band Only?

Just checking - can anyone confirm if the information on https://www.frequencycheck.com/carriers/telkom-south-africa is correct regarding Telkom's UMTS service. Are they only supporting the 850MHz band?

I wanted to port one of my numbers to Telkom (from FNB mobile), but my device does not support 3G on the 850MHz band. Otherwise I'll have port to VodaCom :wtf:

No as far as I know Telkom uses 3G on 2100MHz and LTE on FDD 1800MHz and TDD 2300MHz so they basically use the same bands as MTN and VOdacom for LTE and 3G

I got a chance to test on a Samsung phone by entering the Service Mode. So yes, the website is wrong, and Telkom does support UMTS at least on 2100MHz as well, which my other device supports.

UMTS 900/1700/2100

Soon going to be goodbye to FNB Connect therefore

Doesn't really matter as u can roam on MTN all the time
