Telkom Account Suspension

Our rental contract ends 30 November and we are moving to a new place, so I called Telkom end of October in order to give 30 days notice of ADSL (and telephone line) account suspension. But then the technician told me that I can only suspend the line once the ADSL account has been transferred back to Telkom from our ISP (Cybersmart).

This apparently requires another months notice, meaning we will have to pay an extra months line rental to Telkom just to cancel it once it has been transferred back to them!!

Has anyone else had the same problems or is there something I can do to speed up the transfer process?

:confused::confused::confused:

Sounds normal, just one of the issues of having your line with an isp.

No.Telkom only move at one speed.....their speed.Just another example of why you should keep your line with Telkom rather than your ISP.If cost is a consideration just search the forums - there are ways and means to extract discounts from Telkom on the line rental.

You can't blame telkom for this as the line is not with them and his isp also requires a months notice. I had my line with an isp once, never again.

Not blaming Telkom but if OP has any expectations of accelerating Telkom best he know now rather than later - it ain't going to happen!!

That's not the case.
I was persistent as well as contacting TelkomZA.
My persistence certainly got Telkom to move faster.
