Hi guys,

I've had this issue ever since I started using Telkom ISP.

With my other online games, I get decent pings.

It is just League of legends lol. Most people online get about 190 ping

with 2Mb line. I have a 4mb line with ping above 250 constantly!:(

I've tried everything. Turning all other devices off, port forwarding.

If any of you guys have a fix for this pleeeaasse Let me know!!

Are you playing on EU East or West servers?

And where do you live?

That sounds normal for EU servers, or am I missing something?

Sign up for the 1GB trial account with Afrihost and see if your ping decreases.

Well there is your problem

Well that's a dumb comment considering there is a 5-10ms difference at most. (I played on both servers yesterday evening, 180ms EU West yesterday and 187ms EU Nordic)
You also didn't read about the guy who lives a block away. So at most 200ms ping should be right.

It really sucks that I have a 4mb with 250 and above ping

Ok, I got confused for a second between East and west.

West is what you should be playing on.

And since you are then there is a different problem.

Do a tracert to mybroadband.co.za and bbc.co.uk

Well, good look playing a game on a 5Kbps/5Kbps line :p

There are some improvements in latency if latency is introduced due to e.g. windows updates, someone else browsing etc.

Your latency will increase when you start bottle-necking your bandwidth as packets take turns leaving your PC.

I have a 10meg line at home and when I cap my torrents to 750kb/s and I still play dota with 40ms. Also bare in mind that downloading torrents can make quite a few connections to many different users across the globe.

So as Rickster said, speed (bandwidth technically) has nothing to do with latency.

Yeah, but I was pointing out latency due to bottle-necking. Less chance of having an increased latency if you have a higher speed.
