I got my ADSL near the end of last month and tried signing up for a Telkom ADSL account online with my credit card. The request didn't complete and I never got an e-mail with account details [as stated]. I tried again later and it still didn't work, I phoned them and they said there is no account details for me.

I have now discovered that I was in fact billed for two accounts for two months each (about R1000). I have only been using one account (got the details when trying to add an account telephonicaly) for this month.

I've been on the phone for ages being redirected from one department to another and only after giving a transaction code (from my statement) did they find the other account. At their request I've sent them an e-mail with all of this but have still not had any reply.

Any idea who I can phone to get those accounts cancelled and get a refund? Or should I maybe just cancell them with my credit card company?

That would definately be the easiest and fastest way to do it. Telkom doesn't have much concern when it comes to keeping other people's money as I'm sure you found out from department hopping :(

I've learned my lesson the hard way and will not do any online transactions with them again and would suggest that anyone that does take great care.

As I still haven't received any reply from their accounts department I think I'll just cancel my credit card transactions and make them hound me for the bucks.
