Telkom adsl and landline down

Hi guys,

Been having issues with my landline and adsl line since Monday the 15th (when it decided to rain continuously for 3 days in Durbs) as of now my landline has been dead since then and have not had any internet access.

Called the help desk and they say the cabling department has been handed the query and they haven't responded (yesterday), and that apparently it is an underground fault.

Just wanted to know if someone went through something similar and if there is any way to speed it up? Or how long it would take?

I've just been through this, took them two weeks from initial call to repair , line was stolen/cut. According to them, they had to hire out contractors for the digging/order cable/find the fault.

Keep phoning and nagging them or else it won't get fixed anytime soon
Yeah that was going be my plan , be that irritating customer that doesn't let up.

2 weeks doesn't sound too long, hopefully it does get done in 2 weeks though. Thanks really appreciate it!

Well it didn't end up being 2 weeks...everything is back up and running. Thanks again
