Telkom ADSL numbers: good news

Telkom you chops, I don't understand why they don't focus solely on ADSL and make sure nearly everyone in the country can afford a line. When they had Telkom Media they could have just partnered with a company like Hulu or Netflix and made a hugh profit by offering those services on their ADSL network for a Fixed price.

......Should have left the word "affordable" out!
For whom. In my case, a 4meg line with 20Gb capped use, cost me R750 per month all inclusive. What cheaper options exist?

I pay 895 per month for 10 meg uncapped

Headline misleading, thought we were in for a price cut.

But Telkom's overall Subscriber Lines Number went down again?

They are actually losing in the numbers game.

I have been struggling to get a fix line from Telkom for the past two years and they say that they are struggling to hold on to their clients. I am now limited by an 8Ta 10 gig dongle.

ADSL: 750 X 12 = R9000
3G Cell C Giga 200(Prepaid) = R1800

9000 / 1800 = 5 Giga Packages (for the year) which is peak 250Gb peak and 750GB off peak.

I will agree that the value proposition has improved, but to get the Real McCoy adsl experience means i'll be...MONEYLESS!:D

i want 10meg uncapped line under a R1000

South Africa- The Reality of Internet Connectivity

As a Consumer I am getting very frustrated to all the claims of "Good News" vis a vis Internet Connectivity .

Where do we report on reality that there are few options available and all at low speeds. Last mile is owned by Telkom and in Observatory Jhb. I get max 2.2Mbps . Supplemented by Vodafone Wi-Fi R205.

Why not compare what the consumer can really obtain in the market ???

Then qualify all the 'Breaking News' as PR Junk.

Tell me where and how I can get Stable, Fast Internet Connectivity and I will buy it.
